Maryna Rakhlei is Senior Program Officer for Belarus at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where she leads the efforts to strengthen Belarusian civil society and democratic resilience while analysing political and societal developments across Eastern Europe. A former journalist with Belarusian independent media, she brings extensive expertise on authoritarianism, civic movements, and the role of independent voices in democratic change. Based in Berlin, she regularly contributes analysis on Belarus and the wider region, helping connect policymakers, civil society, and international partners in support of democratic resilience.
