Olesia Bida is a reporter with the War Crimes Investigations Unit at the Kyiv Independent, with over 10 years of experience in journalism. She is the author of investigative documentaries on the deportation and militarization of Ukrainian children, conflict-related sexual violence committed by Russian forces, and the destruction of the Kakhovka dam and its humanitarian consequences. Her work received IRE Awards in 2024 and 2026. Before joining the Kyiv Independent, she worked at Hromadske, where she reported on human rights violations, gender equality, and other sensitive social issues. She holds a Master’s degree from the School of Journalism at the Ukrainian Catholic University.
