Stéphane Horel is an award-winning investigative journalist at Le Monde, specializing in corporate harm, toxic industries and scientific disinformation. In 2018, the Monsanto Papers, co-written with Stéphane Foucart for Le Monde, received the European Press Prize for Investigation. Horel coordinated the cross-border interdisciplinary investigations “Forever Lobbying Project” (2025) and “Forever Pollution Project” (2023), which revealed the extent of contamination by ‘forever chemicals’ PFAS in Europe and for which she received the European Science journalist of the year award in 2024. A passionate practitioner of cross-border journalism, she enjoys developing innovative investigation methodologies such as the “Expert-Reviewed Journalism” methodology.
