Winners of Europe’s leading award for cross-border investigative journalism will be announced on 26 September 2024 at IJ4EU’s UNCOVERED Conference, hosted in partnership with the iMEdD International Journalism Forum in Athens.

10 investigations shortlisted for IJ4EU Impact Award 2024!
Ten cross-border investigations have been shortlisted for the annual IJ4EU Impact Award, honouring excellence in collaborative journalism in Europe.
An independent jury chaired by Paul Caruana Galizia will choose three winning teams, which will be revealed on 26 September 2024. Each will receive €5,000.

Paul Caruana Galizia to chair IJ4EU Impact Award jury
The Maltese journalist will oversee the selection of winners of IJ4EU’s annual prize for cross-border watchdog journalism.
This year’s Impact Award ceremony will take place on September 26 at IJ4EU’s UNCOVERED Conference, hosted in partnership with the iMEdD International Journalism Forum in Athens.

Back for a fifth year, IJ4EU’s UNCOVERED Conference will join forces in September 2024 with the annual gathering of the Incubator for Media Education and Development (iMEdD) in Athens.

IJ4EU rebooted: €2M in grants for cross-border journalism in Europe
The Investigative Journalism for Europe fund is back with a new programme of support for watchdog reporting.
The IJ4EU fund supports cross-border investigations of public interest in Europe. In 2024/25, IJ4EU will disburse €2 million in grant funding to watchdog journalism, along with practical, editorial and legal support.

IJ4EU Impact Award is back!
Each year, the IJ4EU Impact Award celebrates the best investigative journalism carried out by teams collaborating across borders in European Union member states and EU candidate countries with a pot of cash prizes totalling €15,000.
The nominations for IJ4EU Impact Award 2024 closed on 2 May 2024. You can expect the nominations for the next IJ4EU Impact Award to open in spring 2025.
